Soft-start devices of the SHPTU-D series are designed for soft-start of synchronous and asynchronous motors with voltage from 3 to 15 kV and power up to 25 MW. SHPTU-D is a thyristor device built according to the scheme of a voltage regulator with phase control of thyristors.

The SHPTU-T device is a three-phase thyristor voltage regulator with phase control. SHPTU-T devices are designed for smooth switching on of high-power (up to 160 MVA) transformers at a voltage of 6/10 kV in idle mode without load, with the exception of a surge of magnetizing current.

The soft starter of the SHPTU-VI series is a two-link thyristor frequency converter designed to operate in a start-up (re-short-term) mode.
